Kim Kardashian privately battled a serious medical issue amid her struggles with ex-husband Kanye West.
In a new teaser for the upcoming season of The Kardashians that played during the Hulu show's premiere on Thursday (October 23), the SKIMS founder shockingly revealed she was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm after getting an MRI scan, per People. According to the Mayo Clinic, brain aneurysms are a "bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain" and are "common," though they could cause bleeding or a hemorrhagic stroke if ruptured.
After sharing the news with her family that doctors found "a little aneurysm," leaving her older sister Kourtney Kardashian wide eyed and visibly shocked, Kim said the doctors explained how the aneurysm could be caused by "stress."
While she has many ventures that may lead to elevated levels of stress, such as going through law school and being a mom of four, Kim believes the real cause was the tense atmosphere surrounding her split from Ye. Kim filed for divorce in 2021 after seven years of marriage. Though Ye may be out of her life romantically, she understands he will always be involved as they share four children: North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6.
"I'm happy it's over," she said. "My ex will be in my life no matter what. We have four kids together."
Elsewhere in the season 7 premiere, Kim also shared that she was having her first psoriasis flare up in years as a result of the stress after feeling "pretty tested" by her ex.
"I haven't had psoriasis since I got divorced, and it just started coming back," she said, adding, "I felt more stressed, probably just because I had to super, super protect what I had to protect."
