Crypto.com Arena is about to get an upgrade! AEG announced today that they are currently undergoing some renovations at the arena both inside and outside in a multi-million dollar renovation project.
“For the past two decades, the Lakers and AEG have shared a vision of providing a premier experience to every guest who enters Crypto.com Arena and L.A. LIVE’s Xbox Plaza,” said Tim Harris, president of business operations for the Lakers. “Competing nightly in front of the most passionate fans in the NBA inside one of the most iconic venues in the world is something our organization is incredibly proud of. This investment into expansive improvements and upgrades cements Los Angeles’ downtown arena as the pinnacle of entertainment for decades to come.”
According to KTLA 5, the upper seats and a wall on one end of the court will be ripped out to make an indoor/outdoor space that gives fans a view of Downtown L.A. Then the street that's in between the Arena and L.A. Live will be turned into a tree-lined plaza to make it a cohesive unit. The big screens and sound system will be getting an upgrade as well and fans will also be able to see players go out of the locker room with a new glass-wall club area. The renovation project is supposed to be fully done by Fall 2024 but fans could start seeing some improvements already in the upcoming NBA and NHL seasons.
