SZA's long-awaited SOS deluxe album has finally arrived following a brief delay.
On Friday afternoon, December 20, the TDE crooner delivered her brand-new project LANA. The album comes with 15 fresh tracks including her new collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, "30 For 30." The dynamic duo sample Switch's iconic 1979 hit "I Call Your Name" as they tag team on the catchy chorus and serve up fire solo verses.
"Walk, talk like Kendrick, like boss/Like Solรกna, I promise, more bugs, it's a wasp," K.Dot raps. "It's a crater or a spaceship, shut the f**k up, get lost."
LANA debuted a little bit later than expected. After teasing the album over well over a year, SZA finally confirmed the release date at the top of this week in a preview of her latest music video for "Drive" starring Ben Stiller. Fans were excited about hearing the album when it was scheduled to arrive at midnight. Yet, in the early hours of Friday morning, SZA had to delay the album for a few hours to allow the album's mixes to process.
"Just needed a few more hours for new mixes to ingest evenly across all platforms .. (mixes are important) love you camp," she wrote.
SZA's manager Punch confirmed the album's tardy arrival and took the blame. In a post he shared on X, the TDE executive said the album would arrive by 12 p.m. and said, "It's my fault." While fans waited, SZA debuted the music video for "Drive/Crybaby" featuring Ben Stiller.
SZA's anticipated deluxe album arrived ahead of her joint arena tour with Kendrick Lamar. The "Grand National Tour" begins in April 2025 and will travel to 19 cities in the U.S. and Canada. Tickets are on sale now.
