Meghan Markle 'Carefully Planned' Final Royal Looks To 'Go Out With A Bang’

When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry returned to London in March to attend their final round of royal engagements, the Duchess of Sussex made headlines for her unexpectedly bright and eye-catching ensembles. According to Finding Freedom authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, that was exactly Meghan's intention.

Meghan and Harry attended three public engagements during their final visit to London as official royals, including the Endeavour Fund Awards, the Mountbatten Music Festival and Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey. Photos of Harry and Meghan arriving at the Endeavour Fund Awards after their long hiatus quickly went viral. Not only because of the stunning photography and loving glances the couple shared, but because of Meghan's gorgeous Victoria Beckham dress.

“The pictures of the couple beaming under their umbrella as they arrived at the event went viral around the world,” the authors wrote of Meghan's first appearance back in March. “The sparkling rain in the frame was pure coincidence, but the confident walk into Mansion House venue and Meghan’s blue midi dress by Victoria Beckham were carefully planned.

Scobie and Durand also quoted Meghan's long time friend and makeup artist Daniel Martin, who did the Duchess' wedding day glam, as saying Meghan needed to “go out with a bang" before officially stepping down as a a royal. Meghan followed up her first appearance with another stand out look at the Mountbatten Music Festival. She color coordinated with her husband in a red Safiyaa gown for their night out. She went fully monochromatic for this ensemble, as well, pairing the gown with red heels and a red clutch.

Meghan closed out her week of appearances in a caped, green Emilia Wickstead dress for Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey.
