Cassadee Pope Performed A Hey Monday Song During Her Kentucky Tour Stop

Before winning Season 3 of The Voice and becoming a country star, Cassadee Pope fronted a pop punk band called Hey Monday. Though the band has been on hiatus since 2011, a lot of the singer's diehard fans know and love her rock side, and on Saturday (April 20) she gave those fans in Lexington, Kentucky a gift they'd been waiting for. She played "Homecoming," the single off her former band's first and only full-length album Hold On Tight. (Fun fact: Hey Monday was discovered by Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz and signed a joint record deal with his label Decaydance and Columbia.)

“So the main reason why I’m here is because I was in a band called Hey Monday,” the 29-year-old admitted before playing the track. “And I thought, ‘I can’t play a headlining tour and not play a Hey Monday song,’ so this one goes back to 2008.” When she began playing the tune, fans in the front row started bouncing and singing along. One fan caught the performance on camera and posted it on Twitter.

Pope embarked on a headlining tour after spending the month or March supporting Maren Morris on select Girl: The World tour dates. She'll continue traversing North American and the U.K throughout the summer before wrapping up her tour at the Brown County Fairgrounds in Aberdeen, South Dakota, on August 17.
