Rumors making the rounds on social media this week suggest Tom Holland popped the question and him and Zendaya are engaged. Zendaya's mom, Claire Stoermer, however, seemingly set the record straight.

Stoermer posted a cryptic message on her now-deleted Instagram Story on Wednesday (November 30), PageSix reports. She posted a screenshot of the definition of "clickbait," which read "Clickbait typically refers to the practice of writing sensationalized or misleading headlines in order to attract clicks on a piece of content. It often relies on exaggerating claims or leaving out key information in order to encourage traffic. The term is generally used in a dismissive sense."

The storm all started when a Twitter account (Pop Hive) posted a photo of the couple saying they were engaged, attributing it to a "report." PageSix reports the report is likely from Us Weekly, which revealed Zendaya and Holland's relationship is "serious and permanent," according to a source. "They’re both in settling-down mode and are absolutely planning for a real future together," the insider added.

This isn't the first rumor about Zendaya to swirl in recent months. In June, a viral TikTok led users to believe that the "Replay" singer was pregnant.

The Euphoria star and Spider-Man actor were first linked in 2016 during filming of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Their relationship was made public in the summer of 2021 when they were spotted kissing in a car.
