Everyone seems to always focus on the gun control debate (which IS important, not discrediting it) and the suspect -- but rarely the heroes.
Christian "Riley" Garcia selflessly gave his life to protect his fellow classmates by barricading the door to the art room he and classmates were in with his body to prevent the shooter from gaining access.
He was killed when the shooter shot through the door, but in the process, Christian saved the lives of his classmates. I can't imagine how tough it must be for his friends and family to have lost him, but hopefully there's at least some kind of comfort/solace in knowing he died trying to protect everyone.
