For the first time in 20 years, "Roseanne" returned to TV with legitimately the same cast as the original series. A major story arc in the first episode last night had to do with Roseanne being a Trump supporter and arguing with/not talking to family members because of that. Which is honestly what's happened in real life.
While Trump was a major part of the first episode, the showrunner Bruce Helford said that it'll take 3 episodes to see what the series is actually all about, and that it won't be a 9-episode season surrounding "Trump's America."
