There are conflicting reports all around this story, but it's a trending story so whatever, I'm gonna tell it. Apparently, this woman was flying home for a medical issue in November on Spirit Airlines, and was assured that she would be able to bring her emotional support hamster on board with her. But when she got to the gate, she was denied and according to her, Spirit Airlines officials apparently told her to either set the little guy free or flush it down the toilet. So, she said she brokenheartedly flushed it.
Naturally, Spirit Airlines was saying the original rep misinformed she'd be able to bring it on with her, so the people at the gate offered her a later flight so she could make other arrangements for the hamster, but definitely never told her to flush it.
I guess the one and only question I have out of all of this is....there's such a thing as emotional support hamsters?
