Man, apparently the world has been deaf, blind, and silent on this whole situation for a LONG time. Between everyone coming forward now after years of having to live with it in silence. And while it seems overdramatic to say this one hits close to home, it's different than hearing about others, because I've actually met Eliza Dushku before during an anti-drug summit I co-hosted, where she shared her battle with addiction.
And, honestly, hearing about this whole molestation situation that happened to her when she was only 12 years old...the fact she had an addiction to battle makes sense. It's just weird to know that a woman I openly told on stage I had a crush on and hugged before she spoke, 25 years prior went through this. But, obviously this isn't about me...it's about Eliza.
She told her full story on Facebook over the weekend, inspired by everyone else that has stepped forward.
Her former co-star in the movie, Jamie Lee Curtis, penned an essay in support of Eliza and just talking about the whole situation in Hollywood in general, which you can check out at the link below.
All the thoughts and support to Eliza, and props to her strength for coming out about this.
